Obituary for Elsie Campbell

Elsie Campbell
Elsie Louise Campbell, 80, of 1312 Pearl Street, passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on September 18, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Mose and Clara Mabley Brown. She was twice married, first to Henry Vernell Holmes and second to Robert Campbell, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Morningside High School and while she made her home in Alexandria, Virginia, she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. When she moved back to Statesville, she united with Community Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, two daughters, Patricia Elaine Campbell of Fayette and Christine Diane Holmes Ward of Statesville; five grandchildren, LaShonda Smith of Winston-Salem, Natasha Campbell of Fayetteville, Stanley Campbell, Jr. of Falls Church, Virginia, Brochae Smith and Christopher Ward, both of Statesville; twenty great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend Michael McClain will eulogize. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 until 3:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
