Obituary for Deborah Reynolds
Blessed are they that mourn: they shall be comforted.
Mrs. Deborah McCullough Reynolds, 48, of 447 Children’s Home Road, Mocksville, N C. passed away at Iredell Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 26, 2017, following an extended illness. She was born in Cabarrus County on April 25, 1969, and was the daughter of Mason Alonzo and Inez Booker McCullough. She was married to George Robert Reynolds, who survives.
Deborah was a 1987 graduate of Statesville High School, Kings College in Charlotte and a Cum laude graduate from Strayer University. She was added to the Highland Acre Church of Christ at an early age and united with Redland Church of Christ in Advance where she served faithfully. She was a youth teacher, participated with the Bible Bowl, worked with the Education Department and the Kitchen Committee. She was a member of the Churches of Christ Mass Choir. She was a Hearing Officer with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her husband, George R. Reynolds of the home; her parents, Mason and Inez B. McCullough of Statesville; two brothers, Rodney Patrick McCullough and Kevin Ray McCullough, both of Statesville, two sisters, Maria McCullough (David) Lockhart of Statesville and Carolyn (Todd) Mason of Charlotte; her godchildren, Hope Holmes and Daniel Holmes, both of Statesville; her father-in-law, Robert Leroy Reynolds of Philadelphia, Pa., her mother-in-law, Jerry Henrietta Redmon, of Philadelphia, Pa.; brothers-in-law, Mason Reynolds of Philadelphia, Pa., Richard Milburne of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Adele Palmer of Winston-Salem; a host of aunts and uncles including, Belvin (Vicki) Booker of Concord, Jerry McCullough, Mildred Thompson, and Clara Parks, all of Kannapolis, and Harriett (Tim) Davis of Statesboro, Georgia; her nieces and nephews, Marshetta Wellman, Alexis Cooper, Amore’ McCullough, Ashley Dalton, Chassey McKinley, Tiesha Reynolds, Tamaraa Reynolds, Jessica Palmer, Richard Milburne, Kevin Palmer and Nadina Gregorie; five special friends, Treva Miller, Kim High, April Cain O’Neil, Selena Feimster and Chiquitta Khan; and a host of cousins, church families, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, June 2, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Acres Church of Christ. Brother Al Simmons will officiate and Brother Larry Glenn will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Redland Church of Christ Cemetery, 4302 US Highway 158, Advance, NC, 27006, on Saturday morning, June 3, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.
Mrs. Reynolds will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church at 12:00 noon to lie in state. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her parents, Mason and Inez McCullough, 509 Hickory Street, Statesville, at other times.
